The main objective of this position is to develop new products such as spice blends, marinades, fondue broths, as well as ready-to-eat meals, while meeting all required specifications.
- Salary: 38.63/hour

ROLE DESCRIPTION
- Develop and formulate new products in accordance with client specifications and applicable regulations
- Establish and maintain product specifications and technical data sheets
- Optimize and improve existing formulations
- Plan, conduct, and analyze laboratory and plant trials
- Monitor analyses (quality, chemical, and shelf life) with external laboratories
- Prepare technical reports and recommend necessary adjustments
- Support production during product launches and adjust formulations as needed
- Coordinate sample shipments and conduct client presentations/tastings
- Respond to client technical inquiries and provide internal technical support
- Participate in the selection and approval of raw materials and substitute ingredients
- Identify opportunities to optimize costs and processes
- Perform any other related duties as required by the position
Requirements
- College Diploma (DEC) in Food Processing, Dietetics, or any other equivalent training
- 2–3 years of experience in Food Product Research & Development
- Knowledge of Health Canada and Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) standards
- Knowledge of HACCP quality program and SQF standard
- Attention to detail, rigor, and strong organizational skills
- Autonomy, analytical thinking, and basic mathematical skills
- Knowledge of basic ingredients
- Proficiency in spoken and written French and English
- Communication with clients, production, suppliers, customer service, and shipping departments
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook
